Yo! What´s up?

How was YOUR Easter? I am not a religious person by any means, so I really do not care for these holidays. But I do love spending time with my friends and family on Christmas and other holidays, or Bank holidays at the Brits would call them. In Finland we have this edible thing called Mämmi (Memma in Swedish). It looks kind of awful so say the least, to the not so gastronomically educated eye, but it tastes amazing! Just sprinkle some sugar on top and have it with either some cream or vanilla sauce and you are in for a treat, trust me. You can eat it blindfolded, if the visual side of it isn´t tasty enough for you, hah haaah!

I was pleasantly surprised late last night as I was still up and about at 3 am. I happened to listen to Sophie Ellis-Bextor´s Kitchen disco on BBC radio 2, which I do every week. The show is usually on from 11 pm on Fridays, BUT it was Good Friday this Friday, so they had apparently moved the Friday´s edition to last night and Sophie played my 3 Kitchen disco picks! Yes, I had sent a voicemail by e-mail to her and her team, but I didn´t get a message that they would play it LAST NIGHT…! So, I was a bit bummed that I wasn´t able to reach my friends and family in time so they could also listen to Sophie… but Sophie was nice about my picks, and she complimented me on MY speaking voice, my picks and the reasons behind them. That felt really nice , because I was a biiiiiit nervous about hearing myself on the radio. Well, now at least a few listeners have heard my voice and my picks. Niiiiiiiiiiiice!

I had an interview at the Turku City library on Monday. It was about me becoming an ambassador of reading. Fancy title, but it essentially means that I could read books for people at care homes in Turku. I have wanted to do some volunteer work for some time now, so I thought it would be nice to meet new people and get some experience, if I become a social worker. Or a librarian. Speaking of the math devil… I had my first lesson of the maths course I am taking at Aurala on Friday before last. It went well; the teacher was good. She had years of teaching experience and that showed immediately. She explained the basics with patience and humour, too. She said she wanted us to communicate and ask when we didn´t understand the calculations. I do HAVE to start studying seriously right after Easter. The entrance exam is in May, so I do not have much time to prepare for it. Wish me luck! Keep all your fingers and toes and whatnots crossed, alright!

That picture above is Sunny Bunny, a fun bunny I drew and then jazzed it up on photoshop. This was over 20 years ago now.. I still like to draw and paint from time to time. I do not have Photoshop now, so it is all painting by actual brush now. I touched up three different paintings I have made within about two years time. I might share them here on a separate art page. Yeah, I am into many different things that make life niiiiiiice.
